In the 94th minute, sheer ecstasy broke out for Chelsea and interim manager Calum McFarlane as Enzo Fernández bundled in a last-gasp equaliser. The goal left Pep Guardiola ranting in frustration and gifted the temporary Chelsea manager a truly golden moment. On paper, Guardiola versus McFarlane was the Premier League's greatest managerial mismatch, making the memory of Fernández's crucial intervention one to cherish the 40-year-old for years to come.

A Glaring Contrast in Pedigree

On the home bench was the era's defining coach, a man with an unparalleled CV for elite clubs Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City, taking charge of his 1,012th match. In the visitors' dugout, was a former coach at lower-league sides Croydon and Whyteleafe, who had served in City's own academy and stepped up to make his senior managerial bow after being temporarily promoted from his regular role overseeing Chelsea's youth teams.

Factoring in a slew of absences, most notably Chelsea's key midfielder Moisés Caicedo (suspended) and goalkeeper Robert Sánchez (injured), McFarlane's task started out as a mission that seemed close-to-impossible.
